Kazan Dale - The Mistwalker by Regine Abel

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to read this wonderful book by the talented Regine Abel

I illustrated this fantastic character from the Mistwalker saga, I became so fond of his character that I painted him as I imagined, experimenting with the designs but following the distinctive style that he had at the beginning of the work, something more Gothic. In the future I want to continue uploading designs of this and other characters from this very good work 🩷

It is the first novel I have read by her and it is incredible how quickly it captures you and how enveloping it narrative is, which not only makes you feel part of this universe, it makes you empathize super quickly with the characters but also even identify with them; That was my case, when the first chapters describe the aspirations of the protagonist, her expressions and the mistwalker himself, I swore that this book had been written for me. I finished the book in no time thanks not only to how easy the narrative is but also how engaging and interesting it is, the entire nightmare subplot and the cultural allegories in the novel.

What I loved most about Kazan, his mistwalker, was the philosophy of being and freedom, who we are, which is a consciousness and something considered “life” that even within the very limitations of existence one is not completely conditioned, but there is that freedom of choice
